Hey guys, im looking at getting a 7850 but im not too sure which one to get. Im on a budget but i dont want to buy one and then regret not spending a little more in the long run.
As far as i have seen the Sapphire seems to be the best but also the most expensive and i dont know if its worth paying the extra, so heres what iv found
Sapphire 7850 is about £150+
Asus 7850 is around £130-140
XFX 7850 is around £110

I dont plan on overclocking really, so thats not an issue. I just want to know why the price varies so much and which one i should get

What about the newer R7 260X? Are the pricing similar in your country? I would get the cheapest among the 3 or 4 brands, provided the connector configuration is what I need. For example, I use two monitors so I need twin DVI connectors in addition to 1 HDMI and 1 DisplayPort. But if you only use 1 monitor then any card or brand will do. In future you will upgrade to a newer generation card which will obsolete the current 7850/R7 260X so that $40 difference between the brands won't matter in 3-5 years time. By that time, the 7850 will be quite cheap from second-hand sellers and you can get another one to CrossFire.

A brand new Radeon HD 6850 used to cost $189 in my country when it first came out in 2010-2012, and there were many brands and prices. But now in 2014, I got one from second-hand seller for $90, at this price I can only buy a new GT 630 which is useless. So for $90 I get a HD 6850 that has the performance of a $160-$180 HD 7770 and I don't mind that it was manufactured in 2012 and nearly out of warranty. These cards are quite capable and the difference between the 3 or 4 brands are quite unimportant unless you have special needs for cooling or noise levels.

I never even knew they existed xD
They seem worthwhile, though it is tempting to wait for the r7 265
I have 2 monitors but i run 1 through hdmi and another through a normal display port

as a fellow brit, do not wait for the R7 265.

Get an R9 270 which is the next model up from the r7 265. currently available at £120 http://www.ebuyer.com/614458-powercolor-r9-270-2gb-gddr5-dvi-hdmi-displayport-pci-e-graphics-card-axr9-270-2gbd5-tdhe-

it's the newer version of the 7850 and requires the same 1x6pin power connector + runs quicker.
