Can I run civilization 5?

I have a dell dimension 500s, windows xp 32bit, intel e4500 dual core duo 2.2ghz, EVGA GeForce 8800gts 300mb, 4gb of DDR2 ram, and a 500gb SATA 2 hard drive I know it's old I just need to know if it's possible to run civ 5 without a lot of lagging on low or medium settings. I would appreciate any help thanks.

while you might be able to run it, those specs might not be a great idea for gaming on.

That depends on your definition of run, can you enter the game after installation ? Yes probably.
Can you play it smoothly? Probably not, with that pc your best bet is to stick with Civ IV

If you spend about $75 on a new graphics card like a 7770, you should be good to play Civ 5.
