RAM Running too fast

I have 8GB of RAM that usually runs at 1333MHz, but for some strange reason, according to CPU-Z it's running at around 1600MHz. I've checked my BIOS and cannot change it back from 'Automatic'. I want it to run at the usual ~666MHz, how can I do this?

it should run at PC3-10666. Are there any issues resulting from this?

Um, I'm not too familiar with the details, what does that mean?

EDIT: It's showing as

'Max Bandwidth: PC3-12800 (800MHz)

To find what it's running at look in the actual memory tab, next to freq it should show the true freq you are running at i.e. 667 - 800 which is half of your effective rate as this is DDR (DOUBLE data Rate) - the Max Bandwidth pane you mention is simply showing the default boot parameter from the SPD of the DRAM, nothing more than simple info

It was running at 666MHz when I bought it recently but now it's obviously not. I'm just worried that it's going to damage my system, I've got enough power to sustain it, I just wanna change it back

No it's 1600 DRAM and running at 1600, that's perfectly fine, 1600 is considered entry level these days and obviously your CPU (MC) can handle it, you're OK
