Hello.

I'm looking to purchase a new GPU for a system I recently put together. Currently, as the title stats, I'm looking at the;

Radeon HD 6570

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

and

Radeon HD 6670

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

My "specs";
Mobo- Asus A88XM-A
CPU- AMD A6 5400K 3.6ghz Base
RAM- 8 gigs(2x 4gig sticks) G.Skill 1600

So, what im looking for, is some advise as to which card I should go with? I'm just looking for something to hold me over until I need to upgrade in the future. Not trying to play everything on max, obviously, but just looking for something to go nicely with my current system.

Any, and all replies/comments are appreciated. Thank you for your time.

If you have to choose then choose Sapphire one because its memory and speed is more and it will suit your pc

Hello, Ravi, thank you for the reply.

I was actually thinking the same when I was trying to choose between the two. The Sapphire has 2 Gig DDR3, while the XFX only has one. Though the XFX shows that it has 480 Stream Processors, while the Sapphire has 400 Stream Processors.

It also stats that the XFX has "Image Quality Enhancement Technology", while the Sapphire doesn't show that in it's product overview.

The XFX does cost a little bit more, but only that of a couple dollars or so(shipping). That's kind of where im having a little trouble deciding between the two.

So I guess a question I should ask now is(Directed at anyone), is 80 more Stream Processors that big of a difference? Or does the Sapphire having 2gig of DDR3 make it a better card, then the XFX?

Anyways, thank you again for the reply, if anyone else would like to chime in, please do, the more opinions the better.

Thank you for your time.

The more then Stream Processors, the faster the rendering it will be, so its pretty much worthit, that is if you want faster rendering. If you want more video memory, go get the one with more RAM. More stream processes will render the drawings, animations etc etc more quickly and faster.

Awesome, thank you for the explanation, Ravi. I'm not too PC savvy, so I wasn't exactly sure.

One more question though, if you don't mind. I would like to ask you, personally, if this was your system, what card would you go with?

Anyways, can't thank you enough, you've been a big help.

Sincerely, SICC.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... this of even a 7850 -7870 and a cpu cooler to overclock the a6 to get desent performances on current games. the thing is that you also need a 25A on 12v rail 450w psu to run the 7770 plus o/c

if these options are not possible i would wait and save money to invest on that future upgrade you say

There are many choices in the market which makes more confusing to buy. if I have to buy then it would be with 4 gb DDR5 memory and at least 2.5 Ghz speed

Hello, Chris, sorry I missed your previous comment.

I actually tried just using the APU's GPU, and it was decent, but I wasn't really satisfied. I then installed my old GPU, which is a GeForce GT 240 by Galaxy, 1gig DDR3, and Im getting better performance using this GPU, instead of the APU's.

This is my first build, and I was on a bit of a budget. I would say I'm a little above a "casual" gamer, so I'm just really looking for something to run my games decently. I do however. plan to upgrade eventually, and get some better parts, but right now, I just need something to replace my previous PC, which was quite old, honestly.

If you have any more advise, feel free to post them. I'm open to anything.

Thank you for you time.

I am pretty sure 400 stream processors are wrong.
I am fairly sure they both have 480 and the only difference is in clock speed.

Hello Smeezekitty, thank you for the reply.

I wonder why on new egg it shows differently, I will definitely look into that more.

If I may ask, do you have any suggestions as to which card I should get? Chris' previous comment kind of has me second guessing things.

I also took a look at this chart

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-car...

And it shows that the GT 240 im using now(DDR3), is actually right next to both cards i'm looking at, which are also DDR3. So should I just stick with the GT 240 now? Or are the Radeon cards better?

Well in that case you would probably better off with the 6670 since the 6570 is a slight downgrade performance wise.

One thing you will gain though is DirectX11 support

Alright, thank you for the suggestion, Smeeze.

I think I may go for the 6670 then. I will however, be taking a little more time to look into things, before I make my final decision.

I really appreciate your feedback, wish I could select multiple best answers, but I guess you cant.

Sincerely, SICC.
