Best CPU cooler for amd FX 8350

Hi,

I recently upgraded my computer and I am looking for an air cooler to overclock the AMD fx 8350.
I don't want a water cooler as I am a bit worried about leaks and all the ones I have looked at have the two fans that need to be mounted on the case (I have no free fan slots on the case)

Here are the components:
NZXT Phantom 530 with all fan slots used up
Gigabyte ga-990fxa-ud3
AMD fx 8350 Black edition
AMD Radeon R9 290x
1 x 4gb corsair vengeance (high profile I think) and 2 x 2gb ram sticks (low profile) I am planning on upgrading these later.

Thanks

  2. I've got an 8120 and I cool it with an H80i, I like it. Dropped my idle temps from 40 to 45 to 20 degrees at idle.

Others don't like them as much but, I've managed to overclock my chip from 3.1 to 4.6ghz with no issues and it runs at about 50 to 60 when playing games.
  3. I'm using the Phanteks on my 8350 at 5.2 GHZ.
  4. Noctua NH-D14.
*Great cooler, however make sure your motherboard supports VOLTAGE fan-speed control for the CPU. It's hard to know so you'd have to ask Gigabyte. It's being phased out. Some motherboard can control the fan speed with Voltage only, PWM only, or BOTH.

    Other CPU coolers:
    - the Noctua NH-U14S is too big and interferes with the top PCIe slot.

*THIS COOLER from Noctua uses PWM fans:

    RAM:
You aren't in Dual-Channel mode with three sticks like that so you probably have a slight bottleneck. You need ALL sticks in pairs.
