Ok, so here's the thing,
Im planning to build a gaming pc. I've been hearing a lot that next gen games will need more cores. It's not try but i think the games will run better on more cores. Like for example, Watch Dogs, ppl say it runs better on more cores, and it is a true next gen game.

I have these options in mind:
Amd fx 9590
Amd fx 9370
Intel core i7 haswell
Intel core i7 ivy bridge

My current build idea:

budget $1600
Max budget $1650

What do you guys think? Ask me for more info about the question if u need it.

I am one of AMD's fanboy but i never really recommend the FX 9000 series. They are power hungry and generates lots of heat. Go for FX 8300 series and OC.
Intel's i7 ivy bridge is cheaper than haswell and only a bit slower. Won't be any bottleneck for any GPU.
Both features Hyper-Threading technology.

8350 paired with a good gpu is good for gaming go for intel if u want to do number crunching and logical equations and stuff
there is a 4-5 frames difference between 8350 oc and i5-4570k

I'm pretty sure IV cost the same if not more than haswell.

True, but dont i need more cores for the future? The i7 has only 4 core whereas amd offers 6 and 8 for less price. Im leaning towards intel, but im still. A bit unsure.

The 9590 is a monster but makes so much heat and has very few benefits over a 4770k. For gaming, you truly need nothing more than an i5 as most games only use one core, although this is slowly changing.

Not exactly....games like crysis 3 and bf4 are taking advantage of 4 cores. But now im confident on intel. I'm getting an i7.

True, that is my main worry, what if the i7 gets outdated quickly?

The i7 won't get outdated quickly, it will be around longer than the AMD chips.
Also you don't need a crazy aftermarket cooler.
I have my 4770k running at 4.0ghz on the stock cooler and I'm getting 65-70 ingame temps, and 80 if I'm crunching video

Im on a budget.........the 780 it has barely a difference to the 780 itself. So it's not worth the money (in my opinion). And about the psu, isn't semi modular good enough? What's the diff.? Just cable management?

if ur on a budget then its a nice choice...well the modular psu has better cable managment ... thus better airflow and less dust With less power cables and connectors collecting dust and clogging up the insides of your computer, the air flow inside your computer case is going to improve. This will in turn lower the operating temperatures of your internal components, allowing them to last longer and overclock better.
