this link shows cpu temp from core temp and hwmonitor..... hwmonitor gives me a outrageous number while core temp gives me a reasonable number..... my bios doesnt tell my cpu temperature.

what is right???

More about : cpu temp correct

Have you tried using other temp sensors? Real Temp for example, its readings are always identical to HWmonitor.

real temp is not compatible with apus

Probably CoreTemp. HWmonitor has a bad history with reading the wrong sensor with APUs.

yeah this has made me REALLY paranoid, i even went as far as almost buying a new cpu cooler and a new case.....

but coretemp gives me really low numbers when i boot my computer up around 5-20C so i dont know what is right!!!!!

That is because it is reading the CPU Core temperatures, as opposed to the CPU Socket temperatures.

CPU Core temperatures are fed through a type of weighted equation so that they are more accurate when at load, but when idling they display funky, often below-ambient temperatures.

This is as opposed to the CPU Socket temperatures, which are great for idle temperatures, but are often 5-15C higher when at load.

Just be happy that CoreTemp actually worked for you. There are some people who have tried upwards of five programs before being able to deduce which one is the correct one. For me, Coretemp and AMD Overdrive worked, while Speedfan and HWMonitor failed. For others, Coretemp and AMD Overdrive just simply display 0, no matter what the load. Scary, eh?

right now. coretemp is giving me 66C at idle...... i dont even know what to do now, im probably just going to get a new cooler or something because yesterday i was getting 35-45 idle on coretemp, now 66

I was under the impression that the screenshot you posted was under a load?

Because that doesn't sound right. Idle loads shouldn't be that high, let along have such a range.

Try other CPU temperature monitoring software.

ive used speccy and it gives me temps like hwmonitor

Find and test for a program that gives you low idle temperatures, but the load temperatures (are you using Prime95?) are at about 50C. It may be higher, especially if you're using the stock cooler.

Good enough; now just find a program that fits the expected parameters for an outcome.

no program gives me expected parametrs though!!!

So no program gives you below-ambient idle temperatures?

DOWNLOAD THE SOFTWARE SPEEDFAN. It will tell you that what is the temperature of your CPU and Is it low or high temperature according to your region{Country i.e north pole, south pole(COOL CITIES) or east pole, west pole(HOT CITIES)}.

IT ALSO SHOWS TEMPERATURE OF GPU,AUX,HDD,AMBIENT.

cpu temp sometimes gives me idle temps of 5-20c. my ambient temp in my room is around 22C.

And so what does it say when at load (after running whatever-stress-test for ~15 minutes)?

That sounds like your CPU Core Temperatures; congratulations.

but those are too low!!
especially the idle temps

You need to go back and re-read everything I said in this thread.

ok well i know that hw monitor gives socket temperatures, so when at idle, it gives me temperatures greater then coretemps load temps

That's because HWMonitor can just bork with APUs; same with how AMD Overdrive and CoreTemp can just display 0 with their readings, no matter the load.

You have discovered your Core Temperature readings, which is pretty much the only reading you need to worry yourself with, because knowing your load temperatures and if you are overheating is far more important than knowing your temperatures while at idle.
