Hey all,
I have an AMD Phenom II X4 965 processor in my PC at present, which suits a AM3 socket.

I'm on a pretty tight budget and I want a new motherboard with more than one PCIe slot. My question is, will I be able to use my AM3 socket processor in a AM3+ motherboard.

I'm currently looking at this one.

Or would it be better to scrap that idea and get a different mobo with a new processor. I understand my CPU is getting pretty old now, but I don't have a lot to spend.

Cheers,
Arokas

EDIT: Just in case it is relevant, my current motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P

Solution
I have the pretty much identical board (made by asus rather) and the same processor. Not only does it fit and work, but it can overclock well.

The 965 still trades blows with some modern cpus.

Thanks for the replies tcb1005 and Gam3r01, appreciate it!

Just a quick question if you don't mind Gam3r01. Have you done any overclocking on yours? If so how much, and what sort of cooling have you used?

EDIT: Whoops, just read your signature, had all the answers I wanted, cheers!
