Switching to GTX 760 from GTX 660 - do I need a new PSU?

My current system specs:

Processor: Core i5 3470 @ 3.2 GHz
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H
RAM: Transcend JetRAM DDR3 @ 1600 MHz
Graphics Card: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 660 [GV-N660OC-2GD]
HDD: HGST 4TB @ 7200 rpm
DVD+RW Drive: Asus
PSU: Thermaltake TR2 500W

I want to switch the gfx card to GTX 760. Do I need to change the PSU too?

Agree on the GTX760, with the HD7950 being largely unavailable AMD have nothing in the <>$250 price segment, and the few 7950s that are still around (in the USA anyway) are seriously overpriced.
My point on the GTX760 is just that your system already has a strong card installed, I think you'll be more than a little disappointed with the performance gained by upgrading to a GTX760-to get a solid performance boost you'll need to go up to the GTX770 class (which will also run off the existing PSU).
On balance, I'll advise you to wait and see what develops when the Maxwell cards get released.

It's really strange. Before buying I went through many reviews and found that TR2 to be a good one. Well, thanks for that link.

I have gone through many reviews. But, it seems there's no such AMD / ATI card that can beat GTX 760 in term of price-performance ratio. I thought GTX 760 would do enough for next two years with my current specs. However, I had no idea about the Maxwell series. Thanks for the info.
