What is the Best Mobo of these 4 at Overclocking ?
1-GA-H87-HD3
2-GA-Z87-HD3
3-Asus H87 Pro
4-Asrock Fatal1ty H87 Performance
thanks in advance

P.S :
-I was told that I can overclock on H87 chipset.

-I Know these 4 aren't the Best of Overclocking Mobos but I don't need the Best cuz I own a non-k CPU and I will slightly OC it
so I wanna know which one is the best of these 4.

-You may answer that Z87 Chipset is the best of Overclocking
but that isn't always True as GA-Z87-HD3 has 4+2 Power Phases While a H87 Mobo can have 8+2 Power Phases and more OC support.

The Asrock, Z87 would be better but the Asrock will be fine

I don't know if it's a typo or not but you can't overclock a non-K cpu.

Same goes for motherboards. You only can overclock on a z87 mobo (well unless you have one of those early h87s with first bios).

Also there are no +2 or +1 phases now. Some manufacturers are still using that pwm design though (maybe they have some components left from previous generation) but Haswell architecture not using that part.

Gigabyte z87-HD3 has 4 true phases. I don't know which H87s have 8 power phase but I've never seen such a board. Best ones are using 3-4 phases. Even if you see more chokes i'm sure they are using doublers.

isn't that possible by increasing the FSB ?

Aaaah sorry, was so sleepy and didn't notice! :D

Well it's not the good old FSB like back in the day. The architecture is completely changed. Now it is named base clock and the possibilities are extremely limited since it's linked to pcie/dmi frequencies. Even though Haswell introduced the "base strap" feature to balance the base clock and pcie frequencies, the potential is not that promising and not worth the fuss imo. But since you have a non-K cpu, it's worth to try and squeeze that extra bit.

About H87s... Yes, some of them was able to overclock. But then Intel changed the microcode to prevent H87 overclocking and make the manufacturers release their bios updates with that. So you need to find one of those former H87s that didn't get this update. I'm not sure how can you find one on the market since it's been almost 6 months.

Which H87 mobo has 8 phase btw?
