Hey people.

So I want to start Bitcoin mining, and I need advice about it. First of all, I'm still unsure if about starting Bitcoin mining or not. I've been researching it and I read a lot of negative things about it. People say I wouldn't even be able to pay my electricity bill with the money I earned from mining Bitcoins. I don't know if it's true or not. Also, they say it's really hard to mine and requires a lot of power. I've also considered Dogecoin and Litecoin but I haven't researched those much. I currently have a gaming rig with a i5 4670k, a 770 and 8 gigs of RAM. Now, I know I can't mine with my current rig so I am planning to buy a 3GH/s miner from Butterfly Labs. That or buy a new mining rig. So, what should I do? Should I get a miner or a build a new dedicated PC? And, what should I mine? Dogecoin, Litecoin or Bitcoin?

Cheers for the answers guys!

An actual bitcoin miner will outperform a dedicated PC any day.

So should I just get a miner and plug it into my current PC?

I guess the answer is yes, but you should make more research to be sure your investment will be worthwhile and you will actually make enough money for it to be worth it.
