Keyboard connecting but "freezing" and not working, as well as other problems

So I turned on my PC today and it was working fine until I tried to play some audio (mp3's etc). After a long pause every file said something like "file executable failed" or something along those lines. First thought - restart the computer. So after restarting it, the computer went to my password screen, however I soon realised I couldn't type in my password. The keyboard was lit up, and the "num lock" light was on, but the keyboard was unresponsive and the other "lock" lights wouldn't turn on or off. I thought it was a keyboard problem so I tried another USB keyboard, with the same result, and then a PS/2 keyboard. None of them work, but they DO work on my laptop so it isn't they keyboards that are faulty.

They also work while the BIOS screen is showing, and I CAN enter bios. It works all the way up until the Windows 7 screen shows. This happened completely randomly and I have absolutely no idea why, but I'm basically stuck, locked out of my computer and while the mouse DOES work, I have no way of opening the onscreen keyboard or anything until I'm logged in. What could this be? The only changes made to my computer prior to this was an update from Avast. Haven't installed anything else recently at all.

Any help would be appreciated!

SPECS:
MSI B75A-G43 Gaming Motherboard
8gb Corsair Vengeance RAM
Intel i5 3570k w/stock cooling fan
60gb Sandisk SSD (booting from this)
Windows 7 (can't remember which service pack and can't check until I can log in!)

UPDATE! Got the online keyboard on so I can access my desktop, but keyboards still aren't working. In my "keyboards" section in device manager I have "HID Keyboard Device" and "Standard PS/2 Keyboard", both with a yellow warning sign on them. tried updating the drivers but apparently they're up to date?
