Which of these is the best ?

Hey,

I'm looking for a 120GB SSD at around 90 usd. These 3 seem pretty good

- Intel 530 series 120GB
- OCZ vertex 460 120GB
- Samsung Evo 120GB

They are all around the same price , so which one should I get and why ? I'm not entirely sure how to transfer my OEM windows 7 to the SSD, but I've read some articles. Samsung offers some utilities to aid me in doing so , but I'm not sure if it's reliable.

I'm not from the US so no point giving me Newegg links. I could order the SSD from Amazon, but it must be sold and shipped from them, and must be eligible for international shipping.

Any input would be appreciated,
Thanks

I normally recommend Samsung. The company has a proven track record. SanDisk and Plextor are also worth considering. Recently the SanDisk Extreme II has made a very good showing.

I maintain the ssd database listed in a sticky at the very top of this forum section. Here is the link:

Scroll down to the brands and models you are interested in and follow the links to the technical reviews.

A fresh clean install of Microsoft Windows 7 is the preferred method. It does not matter whether you have an OEM version or a retail version. Just load from the CD-ROM disc.

There are software applications that can be used to transfer the operating system and other stuff. They work reasonably...

We can't think of any flaw (Also Samsung is not paying us to say all of this good stuff)

If you are not sure pl read reviews, benchmarks etc. We're not ambassador of Samsung here :). But the fact remains at large. Samsung Evo120GB is worth every buck you spent on it,

Rest is your choice. If you've made up your mind already before even posting then what we can say. Anyhow, at the end what ever SSD you are using, you won't feel any difference. Only way to identify the difference is when benchmark it and compare with other results.

Pl suit yourself.

There are software applications that can be used to transfer the operating system and other stuff. They work reasonably well; however, sometimes glitches develop. In addition, you'll wind up transferring unnecessary files and registry entries that Windows has accumulated over time but never deleted.

The Samsung SSD Magician works very well. The software helps with the installation and optimization process. I have 2 desktop pc's and 1 laptop here in my home office and each one has a Samsung ssd. I have not experienced any problems.

The unique feature for Samsung 840 EVO and 840 Pro ssd's is the new "rapid mode" technology. The competition does not have anything like that.

Solid state drives are not flawless. Sometimes things can wrong. That is always a possibility. If a glitch develops most manufacturers are pretty good about issuing fixes.

Yes, you can. I've reinstalled windows over 5 times.
So long as you don't have 2 or more computers running window 7 with only 1 license.
