Which one will be better for gaming and just normal everyday use. Also which one will last longer as I don't plan to upgrade a whole lot. If you need any more information then I will provide some. Thanks.

I would go for the fx 8350...its overclocking performance is awesome...it has 8 threads vs the 4 of the i5...considering the new consoles also have 8 threads, soon even pc game engines will be able to use 8 threads soon...(crysis 3 and battlefield 4 already can)...i would actually prefer going for the fx 8320 and getting a better gpu with the saved money...in normal usage, you will not notice much difference between the i5 and the 8320...(though the i5 wins in this category)

I also want to go for AMD but i dont rely on them.I have a awful experiance with an A4 Laptop.Considering You.I Think single core performance of i5 will be best.I have a laptop for daily tasks but i just want this desktop for gaming. So i was thinking that where can a i5 can fit.The price is same on both.

I don't know about India, but in my country they are about the same price. FX only costs a little little little bit more than 4570. and I will definitely go for the FX-8350

But if you had the money I'd suggest you throw a little bit money on it and grab a 4670K

Thought this threat might help you

in single core, i5 will beat an fx 8350...once overclocked, the 8350 will match the i5 in single core, give you extra threads and extra speed...amd is very reliable...i have a fx8320 and it works perfect (1 year)

The FX8350 is a much better choice. It will be better for multitasking and you won't see a difference in gaming.(A core 2 Duo can still max almost every game as long as it is paired with a good GPU)

according to Cinebench, it is a 3 core cpu with 6 threads....

That's somewhat meaningless considering i5's cores are faster at about anything.

The games that are so good at threading that they can use 8 CPU cores will be smart enough to spawn 8 threads on 8 core CPU and 4 threads on 4 core CPU. Not to mention, by the time this actually happens, the FX 8350 will get seriously outdated.

It has six integer cores and 3 FPUs. In the end, the core count on its own is quiet meaningless. You also need to know the efficiency of the cores. On many benchamarks, Intel's 2-core Core i3 can keep up with the fx6300

It's hard to believe overclocked 8350 can match Haswell Core i5s in single core performance, but don't forget that you can also overclock the K series Core i5.

i think it all comes down to usage...video edditting should be faster in the 8350, gaming should be better in the i5
