I've got a media center/living room PC,and for additional space for movies and TV shows, I put a few 2.5" drives that were laying around the house into enclosures. Due to limited USB ports as well as difficulty getting to them, I plugged them into a powered USB hub. Now, I notice that when the computer is off, the drives seem to be constantly powered by the hub i.e. spinning/vibrating. I would assume this can't be good for drive life; is there any way around it?
