Hey guys, I'm new here so I hope I have this in the right place and include all the relevant information...

I've never built a pc before, and I want to start with this.
This pc will be intended for pc gaming/basic development, basic video/photo editing and music production.
I'll be buying an external sound card (not included in the price).

I'll be playing such games as battlefield 4, elder scrolls; skyrim, call of duty ghosts, bioshock infnite, etc (most big AA games basicly.).

I won't be needing a monitor as I have recently bought a 24 inch benq monitor.
Mouse/keyboard are excluded from this price.

Also, when recommending parts, keep in mind that I will probably order from this site http://www.hardwareversand.de/

Why? You have ridiculously overpriced peripherals when that money should be going toward getting a better GPU. I'd concentrate on what's in the tower first, you can always add that stuff later on. If the OP is in Ireland you can also buy from UK based stores like Scan and Novatech:

Motherboard: ASRock Z87 Extreme4 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (£111.93 @ Amazon UK)
Memory: G.Skill Ares...

You don't need a Xeon for a gaming rig, get an i5-4670K instead.

OP is in Germany, links to Micro Center and Staples won't be of use. Plus why would you spend $120 of an €900 on peripherals? You can always get those later.

actually I'm not from Germany , I'm from Ireland, i just heard that hardwareverssand has a good reputation. I'm happy to order from anywhere good in europe.

Yeah I think the xeon might not be suited.
does the i5 4670k run that hot? Will i need to invest heavily in fan cooling?
I think what with issues with games running on amd vs intel, maybe intel is the way i should be going.

will i be ok running 8gb of ram, or would i REALLY need to get up to 16g? I intend on going to those levels in the future, but if it would make a big difference then I would like to start with a good rig from the start.

1. Oh OK, you should mention that in your OP. It helps to buy locally. But in some cases you can order from other stores and they'll ship it to you.

2. Not unless you do some serious overclocking. For a mild overclock all you need is a strong air fan like a Hyper 212 Evo.

3. No 8GB is plenty.

Lol the GTX 770 OUTPERFORMS the R9 270X and like g-unit1111 said, you do not need all those extra gaming peripherals.

I really like this build, but it is a little expensive. I need to shave off about €200 off of that price somehow......where could I skimp to afford something like this build?

scratch that, a friend of mine was able to sort me out with discounts on parts and some of the shipping costs....(gotta love voucher codes).

I'll be going ahead with g-unit's build except that I can't afford the ssd, so i'll be buying one seagate 1tb hybrid hard drive instead.
Thanks for all your help, picking out parts as a newbie can be difficult.
