Hello.

My motherboard lately has been making this bizarre noise, but the severity and frequency of it vary, depending on what I'm doing.

This is the part that stumps me though, I can run a stress test with my chip running full load, and the sound will completely go away, so I'm not convinced it's cpu related. Perhaps a capacitor that's about to go?

The video linked below was during my installation of Titanfall on Origin. Note the light that blinks in sync with the sound, I then put the microphone near the light, and then near the cpu to differentiate where the sound is really coming from, as it's hard to tell with the sound reverberating inside the case.

Solution
Yes it is coil whine but I wouldn't worry much about it as long as I does not degrade performance. Coil whine is like , PSU + GPU and motherboard combination. Some users eliminated coil whine from exchanging one or two of those components.
