Dear,

Pl don't worry. You did not do any damage to the system. You just cleared the CMOS which is ok. Nothing to worry about. Just enjoy your system.

To elaborate, clearing the CMOS is just basically resetting the BIOS settings to default, in case of a bad overclock or something like that

clearing the CMOS will reset your BIOS settings, so if you had a manual overclock, or XMP profile for the RAM chosen, or a boot priority set up, its all back to default. no harm done, just go back into BIOS and set it up how you like. if youve never been in your BIOS and have no idea what im talking about, then you have nothing to worry about anyways.

How long is it sitting at the BIOS? It should eventually go to Windows.

try pressing the "F10" key, or look on the top or bottom of the screen, they'll normally list the keyboard commands you can do to exit and save etc.

so windows wont load?...You probably messed up the boot priority somehow. Take any disc that's in the computer out of the CD drive, then try booting up, do you get to windows?
if that doest work, while booting, after the BIOS option, but BEFORE windows would normally load, hit F8 and F9, rapidly alternating between the two (because I cant remember which it is) choose boot in safe mode. can u at least get back into windows in safe mode?

10 posts and we now find there is no hard drive? :heink:

This being a second hand PC, you really, really need to reinstall the software. From the ground up. There is no possible way I would trust what is on there.
Especially considering that 'the guy removed the hard disk'.

You need a fresh install.
