Motherboard/Memory Compatability Question

New build, saw a good deal on the RAM and didn't do any homework first. Been a few years since I've built anything (it's neat not having to set irq's and jumpers, we're spoiled nowadays)

The motherboard is m5a99fx pro r2.0
The RAM is G.SKill F3-14900CL8Q 16GBZM 8-9-9-24 1.5v

The qualified vendor list for the motherboard does not list the RAM in these timings but literally every other version of G.Skill's.

The qualified motherboard list for the RAM has the sabertooth 990fx but not the m5a99fx.

Am I going to have issues? can I set the specs in the motherboard for the RAM and be okay. I'm assuming I can just change the timings and standards on the dimm slots, or will the motherboard automatically detect the settings from the RAM?

Best solution

Put it in and it should be fine as if its not supported it may lower speeds to liek 1333 and then you can change it manually

Do you suppose I would need to bump the voltages past 1.5v to get it to the 1866 specs?

If they are rated for 1866 then they should run at 1866. ifthey are 1600 Mhz memory try to OC on stock voltage to 1866 and increase voltage if necessary
