Have a very large residential install that requires a very high traffic router. Details , 6000 sq ft., 16 camera security system, point to point antennas for 3 cameras, two WiFi cameras, 4 computers, 4 WiFi tv, 2 Apple tv, 3 tablets, Xbox, PlayStation, nas device, 4 phones.

Current Asus 66 not even close to cutting the mustard. Planning on a n access point plus router this install. Need advice for the router please. Don't want a licensed unit, like the meraki.
Thanks

Get a computer with a decent processor and install PfSense onto it http://pfsense.com/ There is no store bought router that will be able to handle that well

How large is you internet connection. Since the asus routers have been tested to well over 100m internet I am suspecting you are asking something else.

Traffic between the devices you should be able to use any switch and it will not impede the transfer rates. If you are having wifi issues then that is another issue. It is not the router that is the limitation in most wireless installs. You can only put so much data into a shared wireless network. You only option is to run multiple wireless connection on multiple channels this requires not large router just more AP and you still can only do so much before you exceed the total radio bandwidth available.
