Recommend me a GPU (£300 budget)

Questions:

    ■What GPU should I get?
■What brand of that GPU should I get?
■Is my "600W Quiet 80 PLUS Quad Rail PSU" okay to accommodate this upgrade?
    ■Does my mobo being PCI-E 2 and not PCI-E 3 matter?
■Is there any reason to wait before I buy? (I'm impatient but I'll wait if there's a good reason)
■Should I care about OCing? (Never OC'd in my life - never seen the need to)
■Can I just unplug my old GPU, put in my new GPU, plug the power connectors in and go without any problems?

  • ■My budget is £300
■I want to run all the latest games on max settings
    ■It's replacing a 560Ti that's extremely noisy and hits 90-100*C, so I want a QUIET gpu.
■I want it to run the latest games on max settings without fuss.

My system specs/further info are below,

Thank you!
-Duncan

Current GPUs I'm looking at:
1. http://www.ebuyer.com/509683-evga-gtx-770-superclock-2gb-gddr5-7010mhz-dual-dvi-displayport-hdmi-pci-e-graphics-02g-p4-2774

Current thoughts on the options: Currently leaning towards the MSI GTX 770, has excellent reviews, appears to be quiet under load.

Ah and as for your other questions, yes 4Gb is only needed for much higher resolutions or multi-monitor gaming. It's always recommended to buy the single best card you can, as the second card you get won't actually double your performance, it will only give you as low as 60% more and at max 80% more, and it gets worse for every card you add. As for if you need an identical card to SLI, no, you can get a different 770 but I'm not sure about all of them. And it's possible that future cards will be able to SLI with a 770, if it uses the same architecture, as we have seen that in the past.

I have a MSI 760 but as you can get £300.00 I'd definitely suggest a GTX 770 and you will be extremely happy! MSI is the quietest you can get (youtube it and you can find a comparison) right next to it here is the ASUS :)

I'm only aware of the basic concept of SLI.
1) Why 4GB? I read that 2GB is plenty on a GPU, unless it's multi-screening in which case the extra bandwidth is needed? I won't be using more than one screen, or at least if I do, not in the foreseeable future.

2) If I ever do SLI rather than upgrade with single cards, will 2GB be fine for single-screen?

3) If I do SLI in the future, will I need to buy another identical graphics card to this one? Or will I be able to buy another NVIDIA card a few years from now and that will work alongside this one? i.e. will I be fine just buying this one 2GB card for now?

May I ask why the Asus or Gigabyte rather than the MSI? I looked at the reviews on GTX 770 brands and MSI came out with the best cooling/quietest so I'm a little curious as to why you suggested those/didn't suggest MSI (if there's any reason ofc)?

Oh simply personal preference, I've had all 3 of those brands and Asus has been the coolest for me, next to the Gigabyte. But I have nothing against MSI, the cooler is very quiet and powerful.

Thanks for all the help Whammy, really appreciate the quick and informative answers!

If anyone has anything more information/recommendations/info to add please do - I'll keep checking this thread right until I order the GPU today/tomorrow. Atm it looks like the MSI 2GB GTX 770 is going to be my next GPU :)
