I have the top card plugged into my 2560x1440 @120 monitor via dual link dvi. I also need to connect my 52 inch plasma tv and my 42 inch 3d ledtv...

Can I just run an HDMI cable from each 780 to each TV? Or is there a special way I need to run the connections? Also will windows/nvidia see the 3 screens? I'm not trying to use them as surround screens I just want to pretty much have each set up as a separate desktop for watching videos and playing games.

Just wanted to update and say that I figured out how to run a 3 monitor surround setup, the 2560x1440 and watch a 3d movie on the 3dtv at the same time...Im limited to the 5 monitors though.

Yes, you can just run HDMI cables to them, and they'll see them as three screens and not run them in surround unless you try to make them.

Just know that you'll have to drag programs around from one to the other, which might be a pain. Also, your 3d tv might not be able to actually do 120Hz - a lot of tvs that claim that just use interpolation, and can only accept a 60hz input signal.

Thanks for the fast reply...yah my 3d TV is a cheaper 60hz TV...the 120 display is my over clocked monitor and my plasma is 600hz...can nvidia only display 3d on 120hz displays?

Well, it's not nvidia that's to blame - it's the way the screen works. That "600" Hz plasma, for example? I pretty much guarantee you that it's a cheater's number they use to generate sales, and that it uses interpolation rather than actually being able to accept a refresh rate higher than 120Hz.

As for the 3d, if it IS nvidia 3d capable, which I doubt it is, you might be able to use it... but remember that 3d halves your framerate, so a 60hz 3d monitor would only be giving you 30Hz per eye in 3d mode.

I think all of the 3d magic happens withing the TV itself...I just want the PC to play the video (that looks like two copies of the same video side by side) to the TV....but I'm already running into problems with audio...I have no clue how to get each output to send the right audio out to each display instead of playing them all at the same time on all screens...like right now I want to have a movie playing on my TV with the audio playing through that TV also while playing a game on my monitor and output the game volume either through the PC speakers or headphones.

What version of windows are you using? If you can't split audio sources, there should be programs that can do it for you.

Hmmm... The best I can find is this quote:

Okay i know this is an old thread but last night i figured out a trick and thought i would share. So most people want to play movies on their second monitor (Tv) and also be able to play games and stuff using the pc sound.

All you need to do is download vlc player and in that once your movie is on go to the audio tab at the top and go Audio/Audio Device/(select your tv)
and hey presto you should have sound coming out of the pc(default playback device and the movie playing from tv

VLC is a very competent media player, so if you're willing to do that, that might be the easiest way to make things work.

That does kinda work...it allows me to choose the audio source for just that player...the single downside to it is that I still have to change the audio when using each screen but it does allow for 2 audio sources to go to 2 screens separately...thanks

Well it's something at least, sorry. :/

For some reason, Microsoft had this feature in Windows XP, and then decided to take it out. They also don't support playing one audio stream out of two devices simultaneously, which is incredibly annoying.
