Are fans/cooling necessary?

Hi, I am getting a new gaming rig, and I was wondering whether I needed any additional fans/cooling solutions, I assumed they were for overclocking or intensive use, but a friend told me they increased performance and reliability.

System specs

fx 6300 cpu
r9 270x gpu
550W corsair psu
zalman z12 case

ur good with that. you dont need more fans. here is a better case though which would keep it cooler, is a better brand and its a tad cheaper:

Dear,

If you are not going to overclock then don't go for any cooling solution. Just use stock cooler. Also your case is good on cooling. Unless your temps are going higher there is no need to use more fans.
