Hello there; a thing I just notice as I was plugging in my second Gigabyte Windforce GTX 770 is that the older card (by about a year give or take) has 7 pins for the power via PCI-E, whereas the newer GTX 770 has 8 pins via PCI-E.

Does anyone have any idea why this change was made to the same model, later revision, of this card?

Would it affect which is my primary card (i.e. to which the HDMI cable is connected?). I had planned to leave my older card in the top PCI-E slot and have the HDMI cable connected there, but wonder whether I should switch them around if the newer card somehow has more power capacity.

Thanks.

there are 2 Windforce 770s a 450w cooler model for uber hot cards which was designed for the Titan, the older was designed for the 680 I believe(don't quote me I may be wrong) but that could be why they used a higher number of physical pins, I know that card in SLI needs atleast an 850w power supply so I'm imagining that the older card you have made just have had a revision for the newer cooler. I have a WF 770 4GB 450w cooler and it's a beaut' but I'm planning on SLI'ing for tri-monitor setups and what not so I figured I would do some searching for people who were using the same thing before I jump into another $400 investment.
