I am looking to build an Ivy Bridge E system for stock optimization. I use Amibroker which will make full use of all the threads. I will never play any games on this computer. I would be using the following hardware:
i7- 4960x
x79 motherboard
SSD
16 GB of RAM
Geforce GT 620 or similar
DVD Writer.
Self contained liquid cooler
I plan to overclock the CPU.
Most of what I read online about minimum power supplies for a 4960x system assume you have huge video card needs. If the x79 came with built in video, that would be sufficient for what I need. I'm just crunching a lot of numbers.
How much power do I need?
