Need a solution to my low graphics low fps issue.

I'm kind of new to PC and i've been having a few problems in terms of graphics. Basically i'm having to reduce the graphics on every game I play because of the constant low framerate and me being a PC noob I cant figure out what it is. Here are my specs, if someone could give me a solution that would be awesome.

CPU: AMD x4 A10-5800K Quad Core 3.8Ghz/4M/100W FM2
GPU: AMD RADEON HD 7850
Motherboard: ASRock FM2A85X-Extreme6 A85X FM2
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws-X 8GB Single DDR3

Basically all the games I play I have to lower the graphics to even get the game running at a playable fps, Im not 100% sure of the exact fps. But its definitely unplayable. For example, I tried running mirrors edge and the fps was terrible even on low graphics. Splinter cell: Black list had to be run on the lowest graphics. Ive got something that might help, I tried playing GTA IV with mods but the framerate dropped dramatically but when I took the mods out it was somewhat playable. My main game is Arma 3 and I have to run standard to low graphics to get even 40fps but even then it seems to be running at a pretty low fps. To my knowledge, my graphics card isn't that bad so im not sure why its doing this. Hope you can help
