WD Caviar Blue 1TB 64MB Cache SATA III (6 Gb/s) on SATA II (3 Gb/s)

Hi All! I am planning to buy a Gigabyte G1.Sniper B5 motherboard. It has 4 x SATA 6 Gb/s ans 2 x SATA 3 Gb/s.

The storage i'd use is a WD Caviar Blue 1TB 64MB Cache SATA 6 Gb/s. Eventually, i'd use up all the SATA ports, plugging a SATA 6 Gb/s on a SATA 3 Gb/s.

If a HDD with 64MB Cache SATA 6Gb/s was plugged on a SATA 3 Gb/s port, will there be any difference? I know the transfer rate will be limited to 300MB++, but what about the Cache?
and do you have other thoughts plugging SATA 6Gb/s on a SATA 3/Gb/s?

You will get the same Read/Write speeds if you connect a 6Gb/s HDD to a 3Gb/s port or a 6Gb/s port.

HDDs can be 6Gb/s "compatible", not 6Gb/s "capable". No HDD can spin fast enough to saturate a 3Gb/s port, let alone a 6Gb/s port. A HDD's cache buffer (16MB or 32MB or 64MB) can transfer its contents at 6Gb/s speeds, but that's it.

SATA 1 (1.5Gb/s) speeds are from 1MB/s to 150MB/s.
SATA 2 (3Gb/s) speeds are from 151MB/s to 300MB/s.
SATA 3 (6Gb/s) speeds are from 301MB/s to 600MB/s.

The Read/Write speeds for the 1TB WD Caviar Blue are up to 150MB/s.

i will primarily use my storage for music (mp3), games, and videos (for watching only no intended encodings).

1 drive per port.
I plan on having 1 SSD with SATA 6Gb/s Interface. Rest is a SATA 6Gb/s HDDs

I actually just bought that drive today for my broken raid 0. No it does not affect the drive at all by putting it on the sata 2 port. The cache is definitely not fast enough to saturate the line, and ontop of that, the cache is really used for writing to the drive to improve small file writes and reads. If you are really that concerned about speed, get an ssd (which you already have)

HDDs Only sir.

Basically, 6 SATA ports are available, 4 are SATA II (3Gb/s) and 2 are SATA 3 (6Gb/s)

Storages:
1 x SSD at SATA III (6Gb/s) Interface
5 x HDD with 64MB Cache SATA III (6Gb/s) Interface

since there are 2 x SATA II ports, 2 x HDD with 64MB Cache at SATA III interface will be plugged in a SATA II (3Gb/s) ports.
What i want to know Sir is...

if SATA III Drives plugged in a SATA II port, what will be the disadvatages i will get? Also, given that I have drives with 64MB Cache, will these Cache be affected ( again, if i plug the SATA III drive on a SATA II port)?
