I don't HAVE to get all the parts at microcenter but the Z87-A Motherboard and 4670k actually come in a combo deal that pcpartpicker's not showing at $94.99 and $179.99 respectively. Everything else seems to be cheaper and easier to get there but I can always order online if it's better value. Thanks in advance :)

Hi there,

Unfortunately I'm not an expert on PSU's so my info will be basic.

In terms of PSU, general rule of thumb is you get out of it what you pay. I'll be getting the ANTEC HCG series as they check out for my build but you will beep approptiate voltage on the rails for OC'ing aswell as a decent wattage for future upgrades and safety.

(I would advise starting a new post asking for PSU assistance)

Finally, a tv will not give you the detail and refresh rate etc of a true gaming monitor but that is by no means a deal breaker, just info.

Apologies that I couldn't be of more help, but PSU's are my weak point of knowledge.

Good luck in your build.

Hi there,

CPU is a good choice, You're going for the overclockable version so It stands to reason yoiu would be looking to overclock. 2 potential redflags arise from this:

1. Have you budgeted for aftermarket CPU cooling options
2. I would not put too much stock in the power supply you have selected
(I'm not an expert on PSU so I would defer to others knowledge on this though)

Ram looks decent and GPU is a good one (provided youre not looking at anything like a multi monitor setup for high end gaming)

You haven't included an O.S or an optical drive either (or a monitor )

Finally outline your main usage for your build, I'm guessing it as a gaming build, that will help myself and other commenters suggest parts.

Good luck on your build,

Regards

Good list man. I'm more of a WD, EVGA, corsair and gskill fan haha, but don't let taste change your list. I have the NZXT 410 in sexy red, with the MSI gaming series badge on the front, looks like a sports car :) The case is really good for what it does.

BennyJi, Thanks for your input.
Yes, this computer will be a gaming PC. Also for school, movies, and music (though gaming PC should take care of these.)
Overclocking will be a future endeavor.

1. Cooling fan will be bought when I do decide to overclock. (Saving more money until then)

2. I would definitely like input on PSU, I've researched but I haven't found any good places for information on them. On a previous board I was recommended a Seasonic S12II or M12II. A little pricey and they cannot be bought at my local Microcenter, but if I get more backing on them I'll go for it instead.

I do not need a Monitor(will use tv), OS (friend is lending me a copy), optical drive(I would never use, and was going to load OS through USB). My budget is ~$800, and now that you mention it could it be possible to set up a dual monitor this set up if not for gaming but for other multi-tasking?

Daniel Sudakov, thanks for your input as well! The NZXT does look gorgeous, I may go with a red since it matches the GPU.
