I have never overclocked a cpu, and my friends neither. So i have an Pegatron mobo ( i know the mobo is shit) and a Phenom II 9650 cpu 2,3 Ghz . My idle temperatures are like 25 degrees, so...can i overclock my cpu ? And i have a stock AMD fan but i had never problems with temperatures, because the highest temperature i had was 45-50 degrees on playin' games for 8-9 hours on summer...
Thanks

Solution
id give it a shot.ive oc my phenon 8650 from 2.3 to 2.6ghz with no problem.all i did to start was to increase the cpu frequency.what settings do you have in your bios to oc? screen shots would help.you could go to 2.7ghz pretty safely with stock cooling i would think.the trick is to religiously monitor your temps.

if you cant restart after a oc change in the bios go back into the bios and back it up a little.ie if you raised clock speed by ten, back it off five.small increases followed by stress tests to test the clock. occt is a reasonably good software to test overclocks.especially for older hardware.
