Can't get past safe mode freezes

sounds like corrupt windows files. maybe a bad virus, maybe HDD is failing or failed in some part. if you have a repair disc lying around i would do that. if you have files you need to back up do it quick. When in safe mode (with networking) can you update windows and run both malware and virus scans? (MSE/Spybot S&D + Malwarebytes).

run a hard drive disk check by going into start/computer/ right click local disc C -this is your hard drive./right click it and open properties. click the tools panel, and click error-checking check both boxes (automatically fix system files and scan for and attempt bad sectors/start./schedule disk check. now when you reboot next the disk check should happen. also run a memtest86 for the RAM, you will...
