I recently bought a monitor for my laptop. My laptop has a NVIDIA GeForce GT 740m, and a i7 4700mq processor. Will I be able to dual screen with the monitor and the laptop screen without killing my graphics card/processor. Also the monitor has a 1ms response time, so will my response time be noticeably better on the monitor than on the normal laptop screen? Thanks

You'll find that the 1ms is a transition time, not response. Should still be better in terms of ghosting than your laptop, but there might be a little more lag.
If both the laptop and the screen are the same resolution, you should get the same framerates, if you're not gaming on the laptop screen.
