So a buddy of mine bought a pc froma garage sale for 100$ it has a core 2 quad 2.66ghz
a 500gb HDD 4gigs of 800hz ram came ina case witha decent 450w pSU its not a bad considering the price, now as far as I can tell the only thing thats wrong with it is the motherboard is dying, usbpots arent working audio jacks stutter and the onboard video has lines in it, I tested it with a cpu from another pc and it still did it. He wants to make it into a gaming pc Is it worth investing 50$ on the mobo and around 160 on a video card?

More about : awaste money

If he wants to turn it into a gaming PC, it'll take more than $210 dollars to do so.

I dont think so The only games he played on his old pc were team fortress 2 and halflife

Oh! I thought he's into high-end gaming. Since your friend has bought a PC by spending $100 and from what it looks like you have to change the motherboard and look for a cheaper video card.

I wasthinking a gtx650 would do fine for him

AMD Radeon HD 7770 would serve the purpose better along with m4a87td evo am3+

He already has an intel core 2 quad the point of this is to get the most I can out of 200$ xD
