So, networking is not my strongpoint... so i need help before my friend comes over to diagnose it...
My ISP is Optus... its australian, anyway...
My previous modem was the Netgear CG814WG v3, and connectivity was amazing, connected to online games fine, skype was smooth and not distorted... steam actually logged in on the first go... right now it takes me, and ive been counting... 182 tries to log in, only to be disconnected 4 minutes afterwards.
i am using a CG3000v2, its apparently a brand new modem... and the ISP tech support told me theres nothing wrong with it, so im pretty puzzled...
I have done all the port forwarding, UPNP and DMZ stuff like that, and i still cant connect to games like battlefield 4, path of exile and all that... and its kinda breaking my balls... sorry to say.
I have a few questions...
Since im using cable, not adsl, if i take out the main cable, that thick cord thing, and put it in my old netgear modem, will it work fine or mmight it be ISP's fault?
bridge mode... how easy is it to set up, and what do you require?
is there anything else i can do to help configure my curren 3000v2?
is anyone else having issues with this modem?
ill prob ask more questions as answers come along...
please help... im not the only one suffering, my family is too, as we have family overseas we try to skype to, but it constantly dc's
