well happened to quite some times while building PCs.
Problems most likely to be causing this:

1.The monitor is still plugged to the display port on motherboard.
2.You might have plugged the GPU to the monitor but the BIOS sets Internal Graphics as default.
3.You might have not plugged the power cable to GPU.
4. GPU is faulty.

So here are the solutions:
1.Plug the monitor to GPU.
2.Remove the GPU, use internal graphics and go to BIOS and set default display to "PCI Express x16 or PEG".
Re install the GPU and plug the monitor to gpu this time.
3.Connect the power cable to GPU.
4. Go for replacement or RMA.

hi, thank you. i hv re-tried 1 to 3... the monitor is plugged to GPU. Now i hv also tried to set BIOS to PCIE and Disabled IGPU. but after that no display even if i connect to motherboard HDMI which was working fine earlier. now no display at all. i hv tried connecting various cable like hdmi to DVI / HDMI to VGA / HDMI but no display. is my mobo at fault or both GPU n Mobo ???

You can pin point this by plugging your GPU in PC of any of your friend. If it works for him than the Mobo is surely damaged probably by static electricity if you did not take caution while installing your GPU.

Does the fan of CPU cooler and rest start spinning or do you hear post codes (that beeps) when you switch on your PC.

hi, thank you. the GPU is installed/removed with power off and even opening the case. there is no way to think of damage by power. All coolers spins. i will try to swap GPU n Mobo with friend's and update you...

Edit ... mobo display is back by clearing the cmos and loading the default. may be the display went off as i had disabled IGPU - CPU IGPU and set PCIE for display

further update... i checked with seller. As per them my mobo may not be supporting r9-270x which cases prob. i could not find any card R7 or R9 to check with my mobo also their PSU rating is 450 or blw hence i did not try swapping. but checked with my old gpu hd 6570 which is working fine in my mobo right now. i will get to seller tomorrow and update.

I think I just had the same problem when going from crossfire 6870s to crossfire r9270s. Are you getting any display on start up like the bios screen or anything? If you are download and run this program and re install drivers it should work. For some reason when I was uninstalling my drivers some parts were getting left behind and it was causing the cards not to work

I just looked at your MB it will work. I am almost 100 percent sure you are having the same problem as I was. Just make sure you don't uninstall the Intel display drivers when using the driver sweep

Dear khicharkumar and pfunkmd,

thank for your views. As khicharkumar stated as point 4 in response to my question, "gpu is faulty", it is confirmed by vendor that gpu is faulty and provided me another SAPPHIRE DUAL-X R9 270X 2GB GDDR5 OC WITH BOOST. its running fine without any problem.

thank you,
