Windows XP Install stops On IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

hi
i want to install win xp on samsung ATIV Book 9 Lite NP915S3G but the installtion halt on IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

any way to install the xp on my laptop

Storage Interface SATA3

Hi

Unless you have a Samsung specific XP for the laptop (unlikely)
or it has a floppy disk drive (unlikely)
or you integrate the XP SATA hard disk controller driver into a copy of the XP CD
or you have the option to set the SATA hard disk controller to PATA (ATA) compatible instead of AHCI.

you will not be able to install XP on modern PC hardware

Since this PC comes with Windows 8 it is likely to have a UEFI bios and you need to disable UEFI secure boot (unless Win 8)

If you realy can not get on with Win 8 try something like classic shell 4 to bring back the start button or get a copy of Windows 7 but do not use XP

Win XP is about to be made obsolete and security updates stop in a few months there will be a lack of drivers for XP, I could only see Win 8 drivers at samsung suport site

first i need win xp no another win can run my app
second i have ssd hard disk in the laptop and i disabled UEFI & AHCI from bios but still cannot to install
any sugestion ?

Hi

Next option is a virtual PC application there are many free
Only thing against is for graphics intensive programs as they emulate graphics cards long since obsolete such as S3 Trio

With W 7 pro & Enterprise MS give away ms virtual XP with free XP licence
Otherwise you need to provide your own XP licence & key

I use ms virtual PC 2007, there are several other equally as good products

Hi i got the same laptop and want to install windows 7 on it, since the laptop doesnt have an internal hard device to start a cd with, I put win7 on a bootable usb stick and I couldnt even select the stick via the bios undeer boot priority. Is it possible to install win7 with an external hard device ? If yes what settings do I have to set in the bios?

Hi

Usb DVD drive probably works

It is unusuall not to be able to boot from usb memory stick , but some bios does not show option unless it sees usb memory stick

Often there are two options shown
Usb memory xxxxx. 8 GB
Uefi USB memory xxxxx 8 GB

Try both

Download MS win 7 program to copy files from win 7 DVD and make USB bootable
