Wifi works but ethernet doesn't

So i Am a pc gamer And after a 1 week holiday i came back to my house but my Ethernet was not working wifi was Ethernet wasn't when i trouble shoot its says 'Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (DNS server) is not responding' so can someone help me also even when i am connected wirelessly if the ethernet is pluged in the internet wont work but when i unplug it everthing works

To start it off, make sure you tell people whether you have the latest drivers for your rig or not, if you dont want anyone telling you "Update your drivers."

Second, have you tried going to your command prompt and using ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew ? So you can receive a new IP address for your ethernet to use? If not, that's a good start.

If that doesn't work, if possible, try unplugging your modem for 15 seconds then plugging it back in, so your modem can receive a new IP address that could potentially work with your ethernet port.
