Normally, cables even from the same manufacturer may or may not be interchangeable. For instance, Corsair HX-850 cables are not interchangeable with Corsair AX-850 cables. In some cases the pin-outs may be identical and if so, they are interchangeable.

I suggest that you get cables that are designed for the PSU you have now. If this is not an option, then check the pin-outs using a voltmeter and then verify that they are identical. If the pin-outs are identical you may use them.

Edit: The non-interchangeability information is what I obtained from Corsair Tech support.

Yes, good idea! Also, keep in mind that these cables look identical and fit the respective connectors even though the pin-outs may (or may not) be different.

I keep my Corsair HX-850 cables along with the desktop that has the HX-850 PSU, and the Corsair AX-850 cables along with the desktop which has the AX-850 PSU. The Corsair cables pouches are identical, which doesn't help the situation!

The OEM on both these PSUs is Seasonic, and this info about the cables applies to Seasonic too! This logic applies to other PSU manufacturers too!
