Hi all :) Im looking to upgrade my CPU since I've started to learn and enjoy video editing but my current CPU is not that great I guess, Im mainly using After Effects, Sony Vegas and Photoshop.
Max price: 400€

My current system:

Nvidia GTX 770 (Im going to buy a second GTX 770 for SLI in a few months so if thats important...)

Intel i5-2320

RAM:G,Skill RipJaws X 8GB (2133 MHz) and Im also going to buy another 8GB so I have 16 GB.

Intel® Desktop Board DZ77GA-70K (LGA1155 socket)

Solution

The 3770k is Ivy Bridge and the 2600k is Sandy Bridge. Ivy Bridge is newer and performs better, so the 3770k would be the best buy.

Which CPU are you using now?
Its nice to have 4th gen i7 cpu for video editing. If you have 400$ for CPU then go for it and buy intel 6 core cpu if video editing is very important for you.
Also one GTX 770 is nice for video editing, save money and buy another 8GB of RAM.

Im currently using an Intel® Core™ i5-2320 CPU
Is there a 6 core CPU for the LGA 1155 socket?

Thanks, is the i7-3770k better than the i7-2600k?Which is worth getting especially for video editing? The 3770k costs 285€ and the 2600k 288€ in my local hardware shop so there is like no difference in price but which one performs better?

No, there is not any 6 core CPU for LGA 1155 socket. Best and latest you can get for 1155 is 3770k
