So, I have a P4S5A/DX+ in my old computer and the ethernet part was working properly but now in Windows it's not working, it says code 27: PCI Device (something about it not recognising it), when I tried to install Ethernet drivers from the motherboard CD it didn't work and some newer RealTek driver doesn't work either.

It is a RealTek 8139 device (built-in), when I booted in Linux and type "lshw" it doesn't even pick it up however it picks up all the other devices accuratley. In Linux it doesn't work btw.

Will I fix this problem by buying a Wi-Fi card? http:// Would that be compatible?

The motherboard is 11 years old so I think the Ethernet part went bad.

Thanks,
Daniel.

Yes, a plug-in USB WiFi adapter will work as long as it includes drivers for your version of Windows.

Just remember, do not plug in the adapter straight away. Start installing the driver software first and it will tell you when to plug the adapter in.

Thanks but I mean that I would like to install a PCI card (click on the hyperlink).

Would this be good? http://www.scanmalta.com/eshop/dynamode-wl-700n-rxs-11n...
