Hii..
I have HD5700 Graphics Card, and when i power on my pc inserting this card after few mins , the fan started spinning loud-louder and System shuts down automatically..
My machine configuration is -
Lenovo
Intel Duel Core
intel pentium dual cpu E2140 @1.60Ghz 1.60 Ghz
Ram- 1.5 GB

Solution
Sounds like a classic case of overheating, use GPUZ to check the card temperature and something like Realtemp, Speccy, Speedfan or one of dozens of other CPU temperature monitors to check...Well...The CPU temperature.
Card: idle <>40C up to 85C load any higher and it needs some maintenance.
CPU: idle <>30C max 60C any higher than 60C is getting dangerous for that particular chip BTW.
Oh, and if you can, link to your particular card or post a photo of it so we know what cooler it has.

go to the catalyst control center and change the settings to default... if that doesn't help completely uninstall the catalyst and reinstall it, if both fails then your graphics card is probably the culprit...
