Should I buy another 7870XT and go crossfire or should I get an R9 280X?

Hey! Im thinking of buying another graphics card for my build and im currently sitting on an 7870xt (Club3D Jokercard) The thing is, im unsure if 2x 7870xt would give more then one 280x? Im currently running on a 650W supply and i5-3750k.

  1. Motherboard?

Assuming you have a quality 650W PSU(Exact model would be useful) and your motherboard supports crossfire of at least 8x8 PCI-e lanes, then hell going for another 7870xt would be great.

HX650 Gold 80 Plus Corsair netsupply and the motherboard is a ASUS P8Z77V LX . Btw, will my jokercard work with a Sapphire HD7870 XT? Or do I have to get another jokercard?

Unfortunately your motherboards secondary PCI_e slot will only run at x4 speed.
If you try xfire it would slow down your main card.

You would be better of just selling your card and getting a single better card.
  4. the 7870xt is a gimped tahiti chip, the 280x is just a full tahiti chip. although its an upgrade, a highly overclocked 7870le tahiti will hang with the full tahiti... so i dont see much of an upgrade there. you would be better off going for a higher tier card if you want a dramatic improvement.
