case fans - motherboard control or no?

I recently built a PC that came with 2 fans and I added 2 more - rear exhaust, top exhaust, and both front fans are intake.

The CPU has a really good air cooler, I have never seen it reach 40c. All fans, save for those on the CPU cooler, are direct to power, not plugged into the board.

I was thinking of connecting them to the board and letting PC control them, perhaps to reduce noise a bit, but wondered if there are any cons to board controlled fans I should consider.

There are absolutely no cons. You can even set them to speed up to a specific point at specific temperatures.

It's a quite good system btw. Have fun.
