Red Screen!!! Help!!

Okay I just put in my new Gigabyte r9 280x rev 2 into my rig...

Started it up and it seemed fine, went into bios quick to check temps which were all normal, then exited bios and when it restarted I got a red screen!
Help!
The cards firmly in the mobo slot and both pci 8pin and 6pin are connected!

Reset cmos, did nothing! :/
Don't have any spare cables either!
Took card back out and everythings fine, what does red screen usually mean when it's clearly the graphics card?

i once had my gpu connected through a faulty hdmi cable. at post before entering widows or even on desktop doing nothing at times, my screen would flash green horizontal lines. problem solved after changing hdmi cable. i suppose you can try a drivers clean re-install but im pretty comfident its a hardware related issue.before blaming your gpu or monitor better start with the cable since its cheep.also if you have o/c the gpu return to factory clocks.

Okay update!

My computer WITHOUT the graphics card works fine via vga cable but hdmi is now not working through my mobo (on integrated graphics) either.

I have tried 2x hdmi cables so I know it's not the cable!

Hdmi was working fine on intergrated graphics before I installed the New r9 280x graphics card, but now it's not working on that either!?!

What it could be -
1. My monitor? However it's been used fine via hdmi for the last few days on integrated graphics and it's only a month old. And I don't think this would cause red screen?

2. The graphics card!? But why now is my mobo's hdmi not working either?

3. Power cables
I can't really say but the r9 280x was powered up with fans going etc and didn't stop/cut out atall, so surely it wouldn't be the cables? But I'm no techy so can't say

Really confusing me! Any more suggestions????

At the moment my pc is running fine without the r9 280x on a vga monitor. However when attached to my hdmi (tv monitor) it now says no signal, where as before it was fine.

Red screen first appeared when r9 280x was installed. However it was fine for a few mins, I then reset to check bios and red screen came up!

Finding this really weird!

Would if I had another rig! :/

Don't get why my mobos hdmi port isn't working with my monitor now though, that's what's weird! Could a faulty gpu damage the mobos hdmi port in any way? ( don't think it can which is why it's weird it's stopped working).

Only a hdmi! Is weird, connected both monitors (vga as main display), but it picks up my 2nd monitor via the hdmi and says it's working fine, however the 2nd monitor says no signal! (this is without r9 280x, on intergrated). Trying to solve this before try my graphics card again!

do you have the mobo drivers installed? also whats you mobo?, you may need an bios update.
