I have an acer one we bought used so the kids can use it. It was running slow and full of pop ups so I decided to restart it to factory settings...and it just says failed. pressing the ok and ntldr is missing comes up. Reading other forums I have learned I need a disk for reinstalling windows xp. don't have one...hell this notebook don't even have a spot for a disk to go. So is this computer toast or can I use a usb stick on another computer to reinstall windows xp and if so what is the process to doing this. Thanks

Just read the parts about getting XP setup to run from a USB drive above ^, the rest is not needed in your case.

You can activate Windows from the license key that should be on the laptop. Just make sure the XP disk you use matches the version on the laptop, it's probably XP Home.
