I think my CPU temperature is too high

When I'm playing bf4 my temperature cap reaches 79 degrees celsius, but there are people that say that it should reach only 60 (Specs are: ASUS M5A97 Mainboard, AMD FX 8350 CPU and ARCTIC Freezer XTREME Rev. 2 cpu cooler).

are you sure that's not your gpu temperature? I"m running a 6300 with nothing but a stock cpu fan and 2 case fans and it doesn't exceed 60C for me. My gpu goes to 80C though.

There's gotta be something wrong with the air circulation in your case if indeed the cpu is hitting 80C. Just make sure the fans are installed properly and see how the airflow is for the face.

They are supposed to start throttling back at 70C and at some point shut down automatically. I have, however, read that they no longer use a temperature circuit on the prcocessor but use some kind of algorithm that isn't really that accurate. So other than using a temperature probe you won't really know what the actual temp is.

I think if you start experiencing thottling or shutdowns you should worry about it and take another look at your cooling system.
