I got the World of Warcraft steelforce mouse recently, and it seemed totally fine until I tried spinning the mouse wheel quickly. When it is spun at a decently fast speed, whatever is on screen either doesn't move at all, or only moves 1-2 ticks instead of many.

What would cause this, and is it potentially an easy fix, or is it not worth my time trying to hope remedy it?

Thanks so much!

This was basically 1 step up from clearance at Micro Center. Pretty sure there is no warranty. I have a gaming mouse from about 6 years ago, but I wanted something with more buttons, and this was a crazy good deal. I would prefer to fix it than return it.

It's definitely internal, not software. Could the sensor that senses the rotation be dirty or something?

It was $22. And considering they are going for $90 on amazon, I would like to keep it if it's fixable.

on the one hand,it was only $22 so what the hell, all you lose is $22.on the other hand,i think your going to lose $22.hope im wrong on this.take it apart and use electronic contact cleaner to clean it.read the instructions on the cleaner very carefully as it can disolve some plastics.
