why wouldnt you just send the card back to the manufacturer? according to the newegg link you provided, that EVGA card comes with a lifetime warranty. RMA it, if they dont have the same card then youll get something comparable.

i dont think its fair to say that. for all we know at this moment, his friend is using an older dual core CPU, for which the majority of the 660ti will be waste (although could be reused for a future build update)

the fact that his friend is apparently only willing to spend ~60 USD should probably speak for the budget at hand, which is why i suggested using the lifetime warranty on the EVGA 9800. shipping costs (if there even are any) will be far less costly assuming his friend is in the USA
