SATA3 work in a SATA6?

Solution
Welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums!

Plug the HDD SATA3 into a SATA3 port on the motherboard.

Make sure that the SATA port into which it is plugged in is turned ON in the BIOS (EUFI), and the HDD must be initialized.

"not showing up"...in your OS or the bios? if it shows up in the bios but not the OS, it just needs to be initialised. if it doesnt even show up in the bios, then you have a bad SATA port (try another one), bad cable (try an alternate cable) or when all else fails, a bad drive (rma)
