You can expect to play a majority of today's games at about med(really high graphics games) to high(most normal games) graphics settings with relative ease. I would recommend the Asus VX238H 23.0" Monitor as it has a nice 1ms response time which is pretty good for gaming

just barely its not going to be great you want some breathing room for parts that can do what your asking ...and well besides you'll only kick yourself later for going for the bare min and it not cutting it

On the contrary these days you can build a fairly decent PC that will run most games with the cheap AMD GPU's, I do however agree that saving up and buying a better PC is a better idea in the long run

Well this is the way i look at it, save and build something that will need upgrades in a year or 1.5 years, dont buy something small to upgrade in a few months.

Plus think of it this way, sure you are buying bare bone unit and it will perform but electronics degrade over time, things don't work like they use to at peak.....buying a good computer will LAST a long time and work with upgrades.

It's like a conversation i had with a friend who buys domestic cars and me Japanese, his argument is why would i pay more for a Honda when my dodge neon runs fine, as long as you maintain and take care of the car it will last long, my argument was but how many times do you have to replace parts, how many times do you have to do maintenance (over the regular suggested times)

Also he sold his car and for something else because he noticed issues that will cost him 50% of the value of the car.

Pay more and get more, i push my Honda to the Limit in every way and it gives back, most cars you push just a tad bit and it fails.

Your computer is the same way, get bare done now but when heat becomes and the performance doesn't last as long then you will be spending cash again.

Also if you have some time hop on the phone and ask them if you can ditch the HD for another lower capacity drive, you may not need all that space, i build mine with as little as internal HD space as possible, i technically do SSD for my HD and then external or server for my additional storage.

Yeah maybe. I am like halfway to having the money for the $800 build. I need to get a job and I'll mow lawns. How long do you think those deals will last? Plus I doubt my parents would love me dropping a grand when I'm supposed to be saving for college!

If your dedicated and thirsty...you will be great at anything, stay determined, take criticism, focus, plan ahead, and don't give a F what others say bc you'll never get ahead.

Keep on moving!

Ok so I'm a junior in high school. I've never even taken cadd or programming because I've been too focused taking all the AP classes. I'll take a course in an intro in visual basic but I can't take the course in C++. Where do you reccomend I start to learn? I want to know if computers could be right for me. I'm thinking chemical engineering or like computer science. I've never really been enthralled with computers before but this build is starting a spark! I know a guy who does computer repair so should I maybe like intern with him? Sorry for the length of the message!

computer science widely used but look into courses and see where you can best fit, computer science is fun but i'm self thought. Chemical engerring is alos widly used so it all depends on what field and lock down on which one you like.....i know it sounds like a generic answer but know what you want to do then do it, maybe do chemical and learn C++ on the side, after a few months to years sit back and see what you like the most and continue that , meaning as your getting your basics out of the way learn more about CS and CE and se what best fits you.

WHUT?

The first two have the following gpu in it which is just nice to put your desktop on your screen or view a video with, not good for gaming at all; "nvidia GeForce GT640 ".

You could have my option with an o.s. for that price and play games nice with that hd 7870.
You don't need hyper threading for games and the quadcore from my build would be good enough

I made some adjustments to prove my point,
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2VzrX
better cpu and windows included.
You would have to build it yourself for that price.
To see how that works,

Edit:
You wouldn't even have the monitor for that price with the two first out off that link as far as i can see,
