So basically, i have an older PC inside a new case and I'm going to be upgrading as i get funding until i have built a whole new system, if that makes sense. So far i have the case and a GPU and next will be motherboard and CPU.

The system now is a HP MediaCenter PC with an aftermarket power supply. The power supply was a budget replacement i put in a while ago, so its going to be upgraded as well, but for now, I'm going to use this one. Ive looked around and so far it seems do-able unless its put under a lot of stress, but then again, this is definitely a lower end PSU. My question is, will my specific power supply sustain my new GPU until i can upgrade it? Im going to try to attach a picture if thats possible.

I think its best to just upgrade the PSU now, although from the picture it looks like it can sustain it. Here's a good recommendation if you choose to change it:

Thanks for the quick reply. I kinda figured that, i was just thinking i should upgrade my weak CPU and mobo now since i have the money and was also thinking not to run the card until then. My biggest worry was that, since I'm gonna go with the FX 8320, the CPU might need some more power behind it. As of now, the PC is just kinda sitting and waiting because i use my MacBook pro for a lot of things, so I'm not particularly in a hurry, but come soon, I'm gonna need the PC and its power for audio/video editing, graphic design, and gaming so i guess better safe then sorry

Yeah, try to upgrade as soon as possible, all these new games are getting higher and higher requirements. Now upgrade to the FX-8320 would require more power, but not a lot added to the original. If you need any recommendations for the Motherboard, I can give you one.

That board looks great, it even has a firewire port already. Although its a little high for my budget, its definitely going to be considered. I don't have a particular board in mind though. What about the ud3 model, do you know if that would be good to OC with? (not necessarily max OC, maybe even just permanent turbo boost)
